Old Town Pasadena Family Photography
I was honored and overjoyed to be asked to photograph Kami and her family for the second time. Their first family session was when Jackson was 1 year old (check it out HERE), and now he is TWO! I can’t believe how much Jackson has changed. He is an adorable little toddler. I can’t get enough of his bright red hair. It makes me a little wishful my own boys had such cute red hair. Theirs just has a hint of red, not fire red like Jackson’s.
Jackson just wanted to run around and explore. It took some creative and patient energy to work with what Jackson wanted to do. That’s why I love photographing toddlers. Their expressions are so pure and it’s always something new with a toddler. Never the same thing – It keeps you on your toes!
Here’s Jackson. We started out at Pasadena City Hall. It was a beautiful day.
Fun with daddy.
and mommy tickles.
Their family is so happy and loving. It made me want to hang out with them all day. Sometimes I’m sad when the photo shoot is over. I want to ask when we’ll hang out again. That’s why I’m so happy when families ask me to come back again. It’s like old times. :)
Love love love these next two of Kami and Lance. I try to incorporate some couples pictures into family shoots. They deserve to have some sweet photos of them together. Look how gorgeous Kami is.
and what a handsome man Lance is. I love the unruly hair. ;)
I think all little boys must like trains. This train playset is at a park near city hall. We were walking around downtown Pasadena and as soon as Jackson saw the train, he wanted to play in it. Here he is saying “CHOO CHOO!”
What a cutie!
I suggested that they bring some toys for Jackson to play with as props, especially things that look vintage. I thought it was so cool they had this vintage plane for Jackson to play with. As soon as I saw this cool orange wall, I knew it was perfect for their vintage plane. We got it out and this series are the first three shots I took of Jackson. I told him to fly the plane, and he instantly threw it in the air and held his hands up to “duck and cover.” It was so cute.
Unfortunately, I think it broke their plane. I felt bad for telling Jackson to fly it. I told Kami and Lance it better not be a real vintage plane. Good thing it wasn’t.
Toward the end of the shoot, I found these cool tall windows and thought it would make a nice shot. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that inside these cool windows was a women’s workout gym. The lady inside came over to the window, pretty mad. I can imagine. A camera and people looking in at these women working out. Oops. I tried to reassure her, we couldn’t see the women in the shot. But I don’t think she totally believed me.
Thank you for asking me to photograph your family again, Lance and Kami. I always enjoy hanging out with you guys.
