Baby Asher 1 Week Old

Friday, August 19th, 2011

It’s really hard to take pictures right after a C-section, but I was finally able to take some portraits of Asher at 1 week.  He doesn’t like sleeping for me, so I got more awake shots, but that’s okay.  :)

Baby Asher’s Birthday

Monday, August 8th, 2011

So you’ve probably noticed that I have been MIA for several months.  This pregnancy has been a difficult one since the beginning, and at 31 weeks I was rushed to the hospital for a placental rupture and preterm labor.  Since that point, I have been on fairly strict bedrest and had to put photography on hold.  Thank you to my wonderful clients that have been so understanding and patient with my circumstances.

I am happy to report that despite all the difficulties throughout the pregnancy, we made it to full term!  This Sunday at 39 weeks, I started having regular contractions and headed to the hospital to see if this was true labor.  Labor did not slow down and was progressing rapidly, so I was fairly quickly prepped for surgery (I need to be a C-section after having a complication called Shoulder Dystocia with my oldest).

Asher Alan Baker was born on August 7, 2011 at 6:25pm.  Fun fact: all 3 of my boys are born in August, and in fact, this baby now shares a birthday with his older brother, Levi, on August 7th.  Oldest brother Elijah’s birthday is August 15th.

Asher weighed 9 lbs 1 oz and was 20 in long.

Daddy holding Asher for the first time.  You can’t really tell, but I almost passed out and puked while this picture was being taken.  That’s probably why I was a little glassy-eyed.

Asher’s tiny little footprints.

It’s a boy!

Ah – I’m in love!

Tiny fingers and toes melt my heart.

I think baby Asher looks a lot like daddy.

So sweet!

Sticking his tongue out already.

Baby toes – I just want to eat them up!

I love his little chubs.

My three boys.  I feel so incredibly blessed!

Big brothers Elijah and Levi are so sweet and loving with baby Asher.

I will be on maternity leave for about 8 weeks, and will resume photo shoots in early October on a limited basis through the end of the year.  So contact me early to plan your holiday photo shoot before I am all booked up.  :)
