It was a fun surprise to get a call from Sarah and her mom from Arizona. They love Disneyland so much that Sarah wanted her graduation pictures there. Specifically, the castle is Sarah’s special place.
Honestly, I was a little nervous for the session because Disneyland is not the easiest place to take pictures. There are TONS of people and the lighting is pretty harsh and direct, especially right in front of the castle. Not exactly ideal for taking gorgeous senior portraits. But Sarah was game for whatever I suggested, so we met first thing in the morning for best lighting. Often we had to wait and wait and wait some more for breaks in the crowds. And I’m happy to say that I am ecstatic on how the pictures came out!
First thing we went right in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. This is a hard spot because soooooo many people take pictures there. I really wanted her photos to stand out and feel different. Hopefully we achieved that.

Next, we went to the wishing well, which is a nice spot for some great lighting. It’s one of my favorite areas. Though it too had a lot of visitors. We did a lot of waiting. And waiting.

I love that Sarah was such a good model. She was willing to try different poses and different expressions. I love her interpretation of these two mirrored Sleeping Beauty paintings inside the castle drawbridge.

Sarah is a talented ballerina, so I asked her to show me a typical ballet pose. I love this. I only wish there weren’t a lot of people in the background.

So in the next shot, I just decided to use all the people around us.. Sarah is so beautiful that she stands out from the crowd.

I loved the lighting here in the tunnel.

And of course a few on Disneyland’s Main Street on our way out.

One with flowers for mom. :)

Thanks, Sarah for being such a wonderful model – you are simply beautiful!
