Since baby Jeffrey is already almost 4 months old, I need to share his newborn photos!!  I’ll go ahead and combine this post with a few of his mama–Becca’s–maternity photos.  First is a picture of the sweet family with their first baby, Credit.  He was such a gentle giant and is so good with baby Jeffrey.

I love this shot of Becca and I’m glad she was totally up for my crazy idea.  I passed by their cute kitchen and asked if she had any cravings.  I suggested she eat some ice cream – what a nice break.  :)

At the end of the session, we took Credit for a short walk around the neighborhood.

And here is cute baby Jeffrey.  He was a few weeks early, so he was so small and petite, but he sure is adorable!  I love the faint smile on his lips, looking at mommy and daddy.

I’m pretty behind on my blog posts (like always).  That’s what happens when you have two active little boys who need constant attention.  Combine that with editing pictures for clients and training for the Avon Walk and not much else gets done around here.  I should show you pictures of the disaster zone that is my house.  And somehow I thought it would be a good idea to raise chickens (more on that to come later)…  hehe

So I’m going to combine some things, like Sarah’s maternity session and their newborn session into one blog post.  First, here is Sarah and Rick and their cutie little doggy, Tudy.  Tudy is their first baby and she knew it too!  She wanted to be the star of the show, and we were happy to oblige because, well… she’s so darn cute!

Sarah had to deal with high blood pressure during her pregnancy.  So she had to spend much of the time on bed rest.

…and taking her blood pressure.  Rick wasn’t too happy about how her blood pressure was doing during the photo shoot.

We went outside for a few last shots, before Sarah needed to get back to bed.

Their adorable little baby girl, Abigail, was born a few weeks later.  I was able to come over shortly thereafter to take pictures of Abby and her family.

I love Rick’s expression as he holds his baby daughter.

And Sarah, so proud and relieved, I’m sure, after having such a tough pregnancy.

I loved the light in their bedroom.  It was perfect!

Tudy felt a little left out, so we made sure to include her too.

And lastly, a few closeups of adorable little Abby.

Samantha and Harry traveled out to meet me in Pasadena for their maternity session.  We had a wonderful time walking around City Hall and the streets of Old Town Pasadena, looking for great locations.  It was a crazy busy day for photography.  I saw at least 5 other photographers and their clients while we walked around.  I actually had to be pretty careful not to get them in our shots.  Like in this shot below, there was a family group just behind Samantha and Harry.  Just an extra little challenge for us.  :)

Love love loved the lighting that day.  These shots from the entrance of Pasadena City Hall are some of my favorites.

Another favorite shot.  I just can’t get enough of this nice rim lighting.  While at a session with me, you’ll probably frequently hear me say, “Stop right there – the lighting is gorgeous!”

And my favorite photos of the day.  Can you guess why these are my favorite?  The lighting of course.

I don’t know why but this one just get me.  Such a candid, tender moment.

Candice’s family is one of my favorite families to photograph.  So I was so glad when my friend asked me to photograph her maternity pictures.  Candice had been having pretty strong and regular contractions all week, so we weren’t even sure she would make it until the photoshoot.  Luckily for us, she made it and was radiant.  Even if she wasn’t feeling great – she didn’t show it.

We decided to go to Eaton Canyon in Pasadena/Altadena for their photoshoot.  I LOVE the lighting in these first two.  Candice just glows.

Their little girl, Stella is one of the cutest little toddlers.  Here she’s comparing her belly with her mama’s baby belly.  No there’s not a baby in there.  :)

Stella is the star of the show…. for now.  Until her little brother comes and she has to share the spotlight.

This next series just makes me all warm and happy.

Great choice for the location.  There were so many pretty areas to photograph.

Sweet moment.

We wanted to get one shot with this just this pretty scarf on, so we looked for a secluded area.  Toward the end of the shoot we were still near the path, but we hadn’t seen anyone the whole time so we decided to do the shot here.  Of course, as soon as Candice got ready we had three big families walk right by!!  Candice was a good sport and they couldn’t see anything.  Plus I think it was worth it for this shot.  I love how the creamy flowers coordinate with the scarf.

Last shot of the day.  Beautiful sunset light.

Joe and Jennie saw the maternity and newborn photos of their friends, Shawn and Alisha, and liked them so much they hired me to come out to Frazier Park and take their maternity and newborn photos.  Joe and Jennie have been wanting a baby for ten years, so this baby is a special miracle baby for them.  I was so happy to be a part of this special time for them.  Joe and Jennie decorated their nursery in this adorable space theme, so we started the shoot in their cute room.

My favorite shot from the session because this baby truly is their “little miracle”.

Their adorable three little dogs are their first babies, so we had to include them in the shoot.

Then we headed to a nearby park for more shots of the couple together.

This goose kept bugging me toward the end, so I included him in the last frame from the session.
